Brow Shading

A new eyebrow treatment is making waves! Brow Shading also called “Powder Brows“. It’s geared toward those with oily or sensitive skin or brows that are already full and just need a bit of shaping.

It’s called “shading” rather than “blading” because the process is more so like creating a shadow or gradient appearance with teeny-tiny dots of pigment instead of fine hairs like microblading—almost like you used a brow powder (the look has also been referred to as “powder brows”). But don’t worry. The color eventually fades instead of looking like a block of color on the brow area.

Brow Shading lasts just as long as microblading. It’s also worth noting that some people may benefit from a combination of both Brow Shading and microblading, especially if their brows are on the thinner side and they need that powder effect to fill out the shape.

So, “Powder Brows” are a very soft, “filled-in” makeup look. Best for oily skin and covering old permanent makeup tattoo.

Brow Shading FAQ's

Will I need an initial consultation?

As with many of our services, you must have an initial-consultation before proceeding with your first treatment - regardless of if you have had this treatment elsewhere. This ensures you are fully educated and informed before proceeding with the treatment.

What to expect after the treatment?

You can expect the eyebrows to be 70% darker after the first application. Within 4-6 weeks the skin should completely heal and within that time, have faded to the color desired. During this time, you should keep them as dry as possible for the next 10 days and scabbing will occur but you should not pick at it. In some cases, the first application might not completely take due to skin pushing out foreign material, with that being a factor, all procedures come with a 6-week touch-up as needed.

Does the treatment hurt?

There is minimal to no discomfort and generally apply topical anesthetic 20 minutes prior to procedure.

Is it safe?

Yes. This is an advanced technique which must be performed by a licensed therapist.

Really enjoy the facials and just had the powder brow procedure done after considering micro blading. The powder brow is topical compared to cutting deeper into the skin.

I had the Smooth Touch procedure done a couple of months ago. My skin has never looked better! I visit this spa monthly for facials, eyebrow threading and eyebrow tint. Wonderful immaculate salon and experienced technicians. My tech is Vidhi and she’s fabulous.
